今季限りで現役を引退する広島の永川勝浩投手（38）が23日、マツダスタジアムの中日戦で引退登板した。先発して先頭打者の大島を141キロの直球3球で一ゴロに仕留めた。

試合前の記者会見で「今年に入って体に痛みが出たり、試合でパフォーマンスを出せず心が折れた。限界を感じた」と引退理由を説明。試合後の引退セレモニーのあいさつでは「最高の広島ファンと17年間やれたことを誇りに思い、現役生活を終えたい」と涙を流した。

1980年度生まれの「松坂世代」で、広島・新庄高から亜大を経て自由獲得枠で2003年入団。1年目に25セーブを挙げ、07年から3年連続で30セーブ以上を記録。1軍登板のなかった17年オフに左膝を手術し、昨季は22試合に登板したが、今季は前日まで1軍登板がなかった。通算成績は登板527試合、38勝42敗165セーブ79ホールド、防御率3・46で、セーブ数は球団歴代最多。【田中将隆】
